Millions of Americans have been diagnosed with Diabetes, and many more remain undiagnosed. If diabetes prevalence rates remain at current levels, the Census Bureau estimates that the number of people diagnosed with diabetes would increase to nearly 14.5 million by 2010 and to 17.4 million by 2020. In hopes of helping to reverse these alarming statistics, Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center, Arizona Heart Institute and Arizona Institute of Footcare Physicians are co-sponsoring the “Vision, Heart, and Sole” Diabetes Wellness Forum to promote diabetes awareness and to provide diabetes patients with important information and resources about the disease and its care.
